I started on freshly shampooed and moisturized hair that’s about 90% air dried. I decided to blowdry and slightly flat iron the hair to make sure that I was cutting off all of the ends that needed to be cut off. I noticed a different kind of split end this time around, which is why I didn’t simply do a trim while in its curly state. Incomplete split ends are the devil lol, but they were only found on the ends that needed the trim, not throughout my head. Also, this is the only time I use a comb; while it’s fully stretched / during trimming (only in the stretched state). I gave up on my Denman brush for that reason; that ends are fragile and needs to be handled with care. I feel that continuous use of such small tooth tools contributed to those incomplete split ends, which is why I now only use my fingers when my hair is in its curly state.
